Today was my first day studying abroad in Australia.

First, we went to Mount Cootha. The scenery was very beautiful and there was more nature than in Tokyo.

Second, we went to the University of Queensland. I was surprised because the university was very large compared to Japan.

Third, we went to South Bank. I played table tennis with my friends.

My host family walked with me around their house and showed me about the burds and the park.

I had a great time today and I try my best to use English better tomorrow!

Today, I departed Narita airport feeling nervous and excited at the same time. I waved Grandma good bye. She wished me luck on the trip and parted ways.

When I was on the airplane I was watching a horror movie which freaked me out a little and then I took a deep sleep for four hours after eating steak on the airplane. The steak was delicious and satisfied me a lot.

At six am in the morning we arrived at Brisbane, the airport was different compared to Japanese airports. The airport in Brisbane was full of green and the atmosphere was fresh and nice.

After we finished the immigration inspection, we went to Mount Cootha and saw a humongous red headed bird which astonished me and I felt how close and connected Australia is with nature. We saw the beautiful view from Mount Cootha and took a group picture; it was really entertaining.

At eleven we visited the University of Queensland and I asked questions about how the university is outstanding compared to other universities, and a woman answered the question saying that the staff in the university are researchers so they staff can teach lessons as well as support and do research too. I was really impressed with this answer. The campus was large and beautiful and it made me want to go to UQ in the future.

After that, I went to Southbank and ate tacos while watching the olympics. After that we played badminton and had fun. It was a wonderful day.

Today was my first day to visit Australia.

First, I visited Mount Cootha. I saw a lot of nature in Australia. I felt really nice from being close to nature.

Next I visited the University of Queensland. I went to the open campus and I saw many different people happily conversing with each other. The campus was big and I was very refreshed.

In my host family’s house, I first took a walk with their dog, Lee-Loo. Next, I played basketball outside with Bohdi, who is my host family’s kid. I played Basketball for 1 hour and 30 minutes. For me, it was very refreshing and pleasant to move my body outside after a long plane ride. After that I played video games with Bohdi and Takumi. We communicated a lot while playing the game.

I am looking forward to having a nice time with my host family.

Thank you

I was very excited because when I arrived in Brisbane, the atmosphere was different from Japan. It was very cold that day.

After that we went to Mount Cootha. We could see a very nice view of the city. It was very mysterious. There, we saw white crows and birds with red heads. The air was very clean.

We went to the University of Queensland and visited the geology department and the medical school.

After that, we had lunch. Since we could not find a restaurant, we ate at a food stall. I ordered squid rings and fries at a fish and chips place, but only fries came. So I negotiated in English and got a free squid ring and fries for $10. After that, we ate in front of the big screen while watching the Olympics. After eating, I felt like exercising, so I enjoyed playing badminton.

I went to NCC and met my host family. I was very nervous. I was nervous because I had never met my host family before, even though they were my host family. Even in the car, I could only say a word or two.

When we arrived home, we had a bonfire, talked about many things, and made pizza. It was very delicious. After eating the pizza, we roasted marshmallows over the campfire.

It was a very nice day.
