Today was a very fun day.
In class we made and ate lamingtons, an Australian snack, and ate vegemite, which is said to be the worst jam in the world, on bread. Vegemite is a kind of salty like miso paste that is not very tasty.
At lunch time, we played handball with NCC students. Handball is not what you might imagine, but a simple version of a type of handball called Gehrig's handball, in which you bounce the ball in your own area and put it into your opponent's court. The sensation is like a hand version of ping-pong, and it's a lot of fun.
In the afternoon, we did our presentations. Our team talked about origami and everyone laughed and listened to us, so I was happy to see that we had succeeded.
After returning to our homestay, we made hamburgers together. The food we made together was very delicious.
After that, we all played scrabble together. Scrabble is a game like a crossword, and it was very interesting.
I am sad that this homestay will be over in 5 days, but I want to enjoy it without any regrets!

Today was the first day we did our presentations.
In the morning, we took English class as usual, and learned about the names of things related to a house and the cultural differences between Australian and Japanese houses. At the end of the class, we also played some games. One thing that surprised me about the games was that there were some games which had the same rules as those of Japan.
After the morning class, I had lunch with my buddy, and then prepared for the presentation in the afternoon. The presentations were given in several groups, with each group containing about four people. Each group presented about seven times to the students from the Nambour Christian College. All the groups had to give presentations about Japan, such as food, traditional games, and festivals. My group presented about Japanese festivals while we were wearing Yukata, which is one kind of Japanese traditional attire that is worn in festivals. We did not exactly known how to put on the yukata before this presentation because it is quite uncommon to wear them in daily life these days, but it was a great opportunity to be familiar with Japanese traditional clothes and become interested in other cultures of Japan through learning about yukata. In the presentation, we tried our best to speak clearly and make eye contact with the audience, so I was glad to hear that our presentations were getting better and better every time we did it from our teacher. I hope the audience enjoyed our presentation.
After school, I came back to my host family's house and had dinner. The dinner was keema curry and all the ingredients contained in it were from the garden they have, so the vegetables were fresh and it was so delicious.
Finally, before going to bed, I shared pictures I have taken since I arrived Australia with my host mother. I sent her a photo which shows my host sister and I were wearing yukata. I took this photo on the weekend when I was practicing wearing yukata for today's presentation. I also received a lot of pictures from her, so I would like to share them with my family in Japan and talk about the experiences from this study abroad.
